| Overview The MKZ is Lincoln???s entry-level midsize luxury sedan that competes with the Cadillac CTS, Acura TL, Toyota Avalon, Nissan Maxima, and so on. It has an energetic design featuring lean muscular styling and contemporary interiors. The 2009 Lincoln MKZ is offered in a single well-equipped trim with standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel-drive configuration. The only change for 2009 is the addition of a standard electronic stability system. Powertrain and Performance The 2009 MKZ receives power from a 3.5-liter V6 engine delivering 263-horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic is the sole transmission available on MKZ. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional. The intelligent all-wheel drive provides enhanced traction and better road grip during bad weather conditions. Build and Styling The signature waterfall grille with a thin crossbar across, prominent fog lights, rectangular headlights, and split taillamps adorn the Lincoln MKZ???s exterior. Inside, the MKZ gets satin nickel interior trimmings; dual-zone automatic climate control; 10-way power-adjustable heated and cooled leather front seats; Audiophile Sound System with AM/FM; six-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability; audio input jack and six speakers; Sirius Satellite Radio; and SYNC voice-activated communications and entertainment system as standard features. A new Midnight Black special-edition package gives a different look to the MKZ by adding a charcoal and tan interior color scheme with maple accents. Satin Nickel Aluminum package and Ultimate package are also available. Safety Features The 2009 Lincoln MKZ gets standard AdvanceTrac electronic stability system that automatically applies the brakes and modulates engine whenever it detects wheelslip and also helps maintain more control in adverse road conditions. The standard front-seat driver and passenger side impact airbags provide enhanced protection by deploying based on impact during side-impact accidents.
