| Overview The 2009 Lincoln Navigator is a rear- or four-wheel drive SUV available in Navigator and Navigator L models. Navigator L is the longer-wheelbase model that accompanies the regular length Navigator. Since the major redesign in 2007, the Lincoln Navigator has seen little change. For 2009, the Navigator adds additional standard equipment including front park assist, Lincoln SYNC, EasyFuel capless fuel fill, rain-sensing wipers, heated second-row seats, and a rear-view camera system. Powertrain and Performance Under the hood is a 5.4L SOHC 3-Valve V8 engine that pumps out 300-horsepower at 5,100 rpm and 365 lb-ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm. The engine is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive lockout. The buyers of Navigator and Navigator L can choose from rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive systems. Variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering and independent multi-link with Monotube shock absorbers and stabilizer bar rear suspension is standard on all models. Build and Styling The 2009 Lincoln Navigator wears a prominent eggcrate chrome grille with a large horizontal bar running through the Lincoln logo. The 2009 Navigator is as impressive on the inside as it is on the outside. Standard convenience features found inside the cabin include Sync voice-activated system; front park assist; rearview camera system; heated and cooled front seats; heated second-row seats; Sirius Satellite Radio with 14-speaker audio system; and so on. Premium leather-trimmed seats; second-row bucket seats with center console delete; and a voice activated navigation system are available options.
